(March 27, 2022) One of our traveling exhibits, Maryland Women in STEM, has made a stop at the Maryland State Office Building, 301 W. Preston Street in downtown Baltimore. If you can’t stop by, see it online here

We celebrate the remarkable contributions of that Maryland women have made in science, engineering, technology and mathematics. Many of the women have been unrecognized for years due to the top-secret nature of their careers!

The exhibit honorees include Mary Cleave, engineer and astronaut; Claire L. Parkinson, climatologist and coordinator of Women of NASA Goddard; Esther McCready, a nurse who led the challenge to successfully integrate Maryland’s nursing and other professional schools; and Andrea Evans, the founder of KidGINEER, a program for children.

The contributions of the Maryland women featured at the Maryland Women’s Heritage Center have impacted Maryland, as well as the nation and world.
