(April 10, 2023) After your day at the Flower Mart on Friday May 5, walk just a few blocks south on Charles Street to the Maryland Women’s Heritage Center (MWHC), now located in the former Woman’s Industrial Exchange (WIE). MWHC is documenting the history and stories of this unique Baltimore landmark. The Maryland Women’s Heritage Center will open its doors at 5:00 p.m. for Memorabilia from the historic Woman’s Industrial Exchange.”
Project leader Amy Rosenkrans, PhD, MWHC board member, historian and Baltimore City Public School middle school social studies teacher, has assembled a window exhibit of the artifacts and history collected so far. This free reception will also include a presentation by Dr. Rosenkrans that sheds light on an almost-forgotten piece of Baltimore history and the people who made the WIE a local legend.
