(February 25, 2022) Forty-nine members of the Maryland Women’s Hall of Fame are of African American descent. See the collection of their biographies and learn how each has made significant contributions to Maryland’s history and culture. These women’s achievements span the years. They include Harriet Tubman, who established a underground network for enslaved people, to Montgomery County’s Rev. Dr. Ruby Reese Moone who has devoted her life to civil rights. The Maryland Women’s Hall of Fame is a project of the Maryland Commission for Women.
