(June 8, 2023) Baltimore Orioles head groundskeeper Nicole Sherry, one of only two women in Major League Baseball’s 118-year history to have that job, will join Orioles correspondent Roch Kubatko in a Virtual Speaker Program hosted by the Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum and Maryland Women’s Heritage Center. This is a virtual event that takes place on June 22nd at 7PM.
“Nicole is not only a pioneer in her profession but also one of the best there is in baseball. Oriole Park at Camden Yards remains one of the best ballparks in baseball due to her work,” said Shawn Herne, Executive Director of the Babe Ruth Birthplace and Museum.
“Nicole is a great example of the women who we love to recognize,” says Diana M. Bailey, Executive Director of the Maryland Women’s Heritage Center. “She has made Oriole Park at Camden Yards a favorite go-to for baseball fans and she is an inspiration for young women who aspire to non-traditional careers.”
