ICYMI: See Anne Calamuci’s 24 photographs that shine light on women artists over 50
In March 2025, we welcomed Anne Calamuci and her exhibit Ageless Creativity to the MWHC women artist exhibtiion series. This photographic show celebrated 24 vibrant, creative and full-of-life women who are in the latter chapters of their lives.
Over the course of the previous year, Anne created their photographs with her signature light painting technique that results in a lively and vibrant effect that reflects each woman’s personality and artistic expression. Her collaborators were Kim Reyes who provided makeup and hair styling and Barbara Roybal, who also provided hair styling.
The opening reception was so popular that we repeated it again in April.
For Anne, the series was personal: “I turned 60 and became keenly aware of the negative, off-the cuff comments about women at that age on television, in movies and during talk show interviews. There’s some kind of mystique that once we turn a certain age that we have nothing left to offer, which is ridiculous.
I certainly don’t feel that way. And the women who participated in this project feel the same way. They are active, passionate visionaries. The creative drive is ageless!”
The talented women here include MWHC supporters Kate Campbell Stevenson, Nancy Rando, Loretto Gubernatis, Malyanda Madzel and Sandy Cummings.
Meet all of the artists here in this online exhibit!
