(May 2, 2022) Join the Maryland Women’s Heritage Center, Mt. Olivet Cemetery, the William G. Pomeroy Foundation and the National Votes for Women Trail to celebrate Frederick suffragists Florence and Bertha Trail with a new historical marker to be unveiled in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The cemetery is the sisters’ final resting place. The event takes place on May 22, 2022, from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. It is free and open to the public.

The Trail Sisters worked diligently to win the vote for Maryland’s women. Their writing, speeches and activism did not end when the battle was won. Both sisters continued to be active in the community and in voting rights issues. Their home still stands in Frederick at 24 E. Church Street.
