(February 19, 2024) For Women’s History Month, we will use photos and storytelling to visit the gravesites of ten intriguing Baltimore women, all very different from each other, who lived during Baltimore in the 1800s. Baltimore women of the time were the backbone of families and communities. At the end of their lives, family and friends laid these women to rest in several area cemeteries, including Green Mount, Loudon Park, Mount Auburn, Baltimore Hebrew and New Cathedral.
Kathi Santora, president of the Maryland Women’s Heritage Center will present the program. She is producer of the blog Dying to Tell Their Stories, which explores Baltimore history with looks at the lives of people buried in the city’s cemeteries.
Attend in-person at Keswick’s Wise and Well, 700 W. 40th Street, Baltimore, 21211 or online. Register: http://tinyurl.com/54ca77u3. Admission is $10.00, with some proceeds to Maryland Women’s Heritage Center.
