Look what we found and learned at the historic Woman’s Industrial Exchange
No one documented and celebrated the history of Baltimore’s Woman’s Industrial Exchange (WIE) until the Maryland Women’s Heritage Center began a two-year project to preserve artifacts found in the building and to conduct and archive oral histories of the women who kept the WIE in operation for over 100 years. The grant was funded by the Baltimore National Heritage Area. Join us on Sunday August 25, 2024 as Dr. Amy Rosenkrans, the project leader and a MWHC board member, shares newly-discovered stories about the women who worked and volunteered there. You will also see the collections of items from the WIE mid-century heyday that literally were stashed in closets in the building up until now. Admission is free. Come share your own memories of the Woman’s Industrial Exchange! |
