(August 20, 2024) These Maryland suffragists were among hundreds who fought for passage of the 19th amendment and the right to vote. They marched, picketed and wrote hundreds of magazine and newspaper articles. At times, they were jeered, spit upon and even jailed. They prevailed when the 19th Amendment was passed, confirming women’s right to vote. Remember them on Women’s Equality Day, August 26, and honor them by voting in November.
